Three Students of Faculty of Law Crowned as the First Place Winner in Debate Competition at UTM

UNAIR NEWS – Students of Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) brought achievement in a debate competition once again. The students who are part of Semi-Autonomous Body (BSO) Airlangga Young Jurist Society (MYMA) Faculty of Law (FH) UNAIR succeeded in winning 1st place in national debate competition at Trunujoyo University, Madura on August 15-16. The competition was an activity of 2019 State Administration Law / State Administrative Law with the theme of Unite in a Constitutional Frame in line with the Pillars of Democracy.

The debate competition focused on the constitution and pillars of democracy was attended by three UNH FH students namely Cindy Cendhani (2017), Ardhana Christiani Noventri (2018), and Pamus Sukma Yudana (2018). By competing among fifteen teams of FH students from various universities, the three FH UNAIR students successfully advanced to the final round of the competition. In the final round, they competed with Madura State Islamic Institute (IAIN) which later won the competition as 1st place winner.

UNAIR FH Team prepared the competition in a short time for five days of training. “Preparation for the race is approximately five days because the topic was announced on 6 August. At that time, there is a faculty aspect which must be able to divide time, “said Cindy Cendhani as one of the members of the debate competition.

Being the first winner certainly added to BSO MYMA achievement. Where in the previous year, UNAIR Faculty of Law also won 1st place at UTM Madura. The victory was certainly an extraordinary achievement because they won first place in the national debate for two times in a row.

“We are really happy to bring the trophy back to Airlangga,” he said.

Please take note, a few months ago BSO MYMA won the Best Speaker in Parahyangan Legal Competition and won 1st place at Eastern Regional Student Constitution Debate Competition held by Constitutional Court.
