UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga  Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) has just achieved accreditation with ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics / Computer Science, the Natural Science and Mathematics). The accreditation is valid from this month until 2024.

ASIIN accreditation is proof that quality assurance has been going well at FKG UNAIR. All academicians have been accustomed to an excellent-structured system and measured performance by international standards.

ASIIN accreditation is the latest accreditation after national and Asian accreditation. Previously in 2018 FKG UNAIR has achieved ASEAN University Network – Quality Assessment (AUN-QA) certification.

Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M. Kes., said that his party and the team have carried out quality assurance within the faculty. FKG UNAIR has A accredited ten programs from eleven study programs. The successful accreditation program cannot be separated from the excellent management structure in the faculty.

“After national and Asian accreditation, now is the time to perform in Europe,” he said.

FKG UNAIR achieved ASIIN accreditation from an assessment visit by a German assessor. The focus of this accreditation was the bachelor’s degree. The results obtained were also full accreditation without any additional conditions.

The Dean of FKG UNAIR also added that the successful accreditation indicates academics of FKG UNAIR are familiar with a structured system. With a structured system, there is a measure of assessment of their works. The services provided to students and teaching staff have been carried out well.

“What we have planned must be done on time,” he said.

Sustainable human resource development can be measured by existing assessments. PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) system can be implemented after obtaining ASIIN accreditation.

The PDCA system implemented by FKG UNAIR indicates its readiness to develop human resources in a sustainable manner. The impact of the system will also facilitate the lecture processes, especially the systematic lecture schedule.

Action is emphasized after obtaining ASIIN accreditation in the hope of work evaluation. Forms of reports such as portfolios greatly assist the work process in FKG UNAIR.

Competence does not just stop at exams. The application of knowledge can also be measured by how learning can be achieved. (*)
