Abhiseka 2019, General Moeldoko: Students Must Be Innovative and Competitive

UNAIR NEWS – A series of activities from Campus Life Introduction to Freshmen (PKKMB) Universitas Airlangga 2019 is over. It was closed with the Abhiseka activity held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR, on August 9, 2019. The Presidential Chief of Staff of the Republic of Indonesia TNI Dr. H. Moeldoko, S.I.P attended the closing event.

In front of 6892 UNAIR freshmen, the retired TNI Commander delivered a public lecture themed “Becoming Winners in Industrial Revolution Era”. Before his presentation, Moeldoko also motivated students to become leaders who are ready to welcome the golden period of Indonesia in 2045.

“If today you are 18 years old. Then, the golden period of Indonesia in 2045 will be your hands, “said Moeldoko opening his public lecture.

At the beginning of the presentation, Moeldoko emphasized that challenges equal opportunities. In the future, he continued, on many risks of financial markets, many new things will happen in 2045. Buying and selling property will be replaced by rent, electric cars will replace fuel cars, oil-producing countries will face crisis, robots will replace human, and physical banks will not be found.

Furthermore, Moeldoko also said that another challenge that is now also being faced together is the ideological challenge which is marked by the introduction of intolerance and radicalism. In the perspective of political challenges, he explained, the development of changing world geopolitical conditions will have a major impact on the life of the nation and state.

“For this reason, the government continues to improve and respond to this by focusing and laying the foundation for infrastructure development, accelerating infrastructure development, and equitable access to basic services,” he said. “And in the future, the government will accelerate the development of human resources,” he added.

In the end, the general born in Kediri told the freshmen that there is fierce competition among countries in the world. Therefore, he said, the young generation of freshmen must be able to play an important role in global competition.

“During college you have to be really sincere and develop insight, an innovative and competitive spirit,” concluded the SMAN 2 Jombang graduate.
