UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga established cooperation with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) Wednesday, July 30. The cooperation was marked by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Plenary Session Room, UNAIR Management Office.
PT SMI’s Acting President Director Edwin Syahruzad said that this collaboration supported the development of infrastructure in UNAIR primarily to realize a quality Higher Education Tri Dharma.
According to him, there will be three aspects of cooperation. First, the initialization of the infralib platform (digital library). “Because we are engaged in infrastructure financing, all information related to infrastructure financing can be accessed there. We encourage all to upload, “Edwin explained.
Second, community service or CSR. Edwin said the CSR would be in the form of eye examination for about 6,000 elementary school students by cooperating with doctors from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR. “This is a real proof that we are serving the community,” he explained.
Third, in terms of financing or strengthening methodology. As a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in infrastructure financing, PT SMI hoped that it will not only provide financing. However, there must be an impact on the development of the community, in social, economic and environmental aspects.
He hoped that the signing of the cooperation would have a positive impact on UNAIR and PT SMI in the future. “By cooperating with universities, we hope we come back to reflect whether the methodology we implement is correct or not. Reflect on whether the things we do are ideal or not. We, as practitioners, hoped that it will be beneficial for the community,” explained Edwin. (*)
