12 State and Private Universities Participates on External Monitoring and Evaluation at UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held external monitoring and evaluation (Monev) for Ristekdikti PKM team on Tuesday, July 2 at Kahuripan Hall 300 Campus Management Building C. Recorded in the last five years, UNAIR was trusted to host the implementation of these activities.

The activity was attended by 37 teams consisting of 12 State and Private Universities. Namely Universitas Madura, Universitas Islam Madura, STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, STIKES Delima Persada Gresik, STKIP Qamaruddin Gresik, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Universitas Trunojoyo, Universitas Nahdatu Ulama Sidoarjo, Politeknik Negeri Madura, Universitas Wiraraja, Politeknik NSC Surabaya, dan Sekolah Tinggi Teknik Qomaruddin.

“Later, the selected team will go to the final of National Scientific Week (Pimnas) which will be held at Universitas Udayana,” Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan, S.H., M.H., CN as UNAIR Director of Student Affairs.

At the opening of Monev 2019, there were reviewers assigned by Directorate General of Belmawa, Sopingi, S. Sos, M.Pd (Universitas Negeri Malang) and Tri Wikaningrum, SE., M.Si (Sultan Agung Islamic University). Besides, there were Nasrullah (companion), and Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan, S.H., M.H., CN as UNAIR Director of Student Affairs.

Being the host proves that UNAIR is a trustworthy institution, and it has a myriad of achievements in PIMNAS event. Dr. Hadi said that the activity could produce extraordinary research. Moreover, the outcome of lecturer research is quite similar to student research. In fact, one of PKM proposal had been released in the publication of a Scopus indexed journal last year.

“Imagine if student’s pkm proposal can be published in an internationally reputed journal,” he said.

Besides, there are certain criteria for qualifying in the next PIMNAS event. By creating research in accordance with written research guidelines.

“It might be insignificant, but it will determine whether the research proposal is passed or not,” he said.

There are seven fields of PKM, namely sciences, social studies, community service, initiative, entrepreneurship, written ideas, and constructive futuristic ideas which are new and inaugural schemes in UNAIR. The existence of PKM activities aims to hone student skills both from hard skills, soft skills, tenacity in research, teamwork, and others.

Meanwhile, one of the participants named Nurfaridah from STIKES Delima Persada Gresik said she was nervous presenting her research result because of the lack of preparation and minimal time. However, she got a lot of criticism and suggestion regarding to her research.

“I am very optimistic that I can be selected as a finalist for 2019 PIMNAS,” she said. (*)
