UNAIR NEWS – Center for Management of Social Funds (PUSPAS) provides compensation funds to students of Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga in Section Room to financial services of Dr. Soetomo on Wednesday, May 29.
Dr. Tika Widiastuti, S.E. M.Si, Head of PUSPAS UNAIR stated the purpose of PUSPAS is institution in UNAIR for helping the academic community in financial problems, especially for health.
One of the example of Muhammad Takbir Kasyafi who got help from PUSPAS. When they submit the requirement, PUSPAS reviewed the condition of the family and turned out that his family is not capable of paying for hospital fees.
Moreover, his parents are entering retirement age and he also does not have health insurance.
“So, it is our duty (PUSPAS, ed) to help and ease student burden,” Tika said.
The amount money that he received is eleven million six hundred thousand rupiah. The fee comes from zakat allocation managed by PUSPAS through the Al-Azhar Surabaya institution.
Meanwhile, Puji Karyanto, Vice Dean I of UNAIR Faculty of Humanities as a student representative stated that the assistance from PUSPAS greatly alleviated and helped economically disadvantaged students.
Puji added that the benefits of PUSPAS are shown for UNAIR academics. So, for those who want to donate, it can be channeled through Puspas.
“Because, PUSPAS has been proven to be very helpful and the benefits can be seen by UNAIR academic community,” he said.
Amsa Mufida as a representative from the family expressed her gratitude to PUSPAS and they dont have to pay the bill at Dr. Hospital. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya.
“As a family, I’m grateful for PUSPAS and UNAIR because we can get a treatment in Doctor Soetomo Hospital.” Said Amsa.
Tika appealed, if there are academics who need medical expenses. They should contact PUSPAS.
The first thing is go to UNAIR Hospital, because students have insurance to help with their medical expenses. Then, when it is processed and if the results says that they are unable to pay the bills, then student can apply at PUSPAS.
“There are several students that we have helped before. We provide wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, and so on,” explained Tika.
“Besides, helping us giving donation. It can be distributed at faculty booths, our account, or come directly to UNAIR management office on the 3rd floor, “she concluded. (*)
