UNAIR NEWS – A student must be familiar with Higher Education Tri Dharma. One of the values is community service. It is not only about disseminating information to the public, but also about sharing.

In the moment of Ramadan, many student activities are related to sharing. The forms of activities are diverse, not only sharing ta’jil on the streets but also charity events in mosques or orphanages.

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Physics Student Association (Himafi) held Himafi Share on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at KH. AR. Fakhruddin Muhammadiyah Orphanage. It is an annual activity and this year was held together with upgrading 2 to the members.

According to Khoyrul Anam as the person in charge, the activity not only gave orphans aid, but there was also books or toys donation to orphanages. Aside from being an implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma, the activity aimed to strengthen ties with the community and cabinet members.

“To strengthen ties with people and in Islam, we are also advised to share with others so that our possessions will be blessed,” said the second-semester student.

The activity was in forms of sharing and iftar gathering with the orphans. Twenty-five orphans and all cabinet members were involved in the event. There was also a Qur’an recitation and a sermon before the iftar feast. For Anam, the activity brings enormous benefits for cabinet members and orphans.

This activity is expected to have more significant goals that provide benefits to the wider community. And, of course, the cabinet members can be closer to the others.

“Hopefully, this event can be even better with a bigger target, and the cabinet can be even closer,” he said. (*)
