BSO MYMA Delegate Wins Best Oralist Award at Parahyangan Legal Competition 2019

UNAIR NEWS – Semi-Autonomous Body (BSO) Airlangga Young Jurist Community (MYMA) sent a delegation in Parahyangan Legal Competition 2019 debate competition. It was held in Bandung on Thursday, April 26, 2019. The competition is a prestigious event for students of law students throughout Indonesia.

It can be seen from participants of the participants which were from various universities, from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Diponegoro University, Padjajaran University, Semarang State University, Pelita Harapan University, Brawijaya University, and other universities. There were 15 delegation taking part in the competition.

The delegation from MYMA in Parahyangan Legal Competition 2019 were Alip Pamungkas, Nina Amelia Novita Sari and Vincentius Susanto as speakers as well as Windy Agustin, Ezra Tambunan, and Patricia Inge Felany as researchers.

In the competition, 15 delegations were divided into 4 chambers, chamber A, B, C, and D. UNAIR delegation the same chamber with Universitas Brawijaya, Andalas University, and Universitas Brawijaya.

In the preliminary round, UNAIR delegation did not make the next round. The winners of the competition were Pelita Harapan University as the first winner and Diponegoro University as the runner up.

Although UNAIR delegation did not win the competition, the delegation had tried its best.

“It’s pretty sad, but we are proud to have tried our best,” said Vincentitus Susanto, one of the delegates.

Win Best Oralist

Although MYMA delegation has not been able to bring home 2019 Parahyangan Legal Competition trophy, but one of its speakers, Alip Pamungkas awarded best oralist in the competition.

“I was very surprised when my name was mentioned as best oralist. Because generally the best oralist is the second or third speaker from the team qualifying for the semi-finals.  I was only a first speaker, “said Alip Pamungkas who was also the head of the delegation.

Even though in 2019 Parahyangan Legal Competition MYMA won the best oralist award, Alip hoped that next year, MYMA delegation could take home the trophy of Parahyangan Legal Competition. (*)
