HIMA D3 Tourism Unair Enlivens Majapahit International Travel Fair in East Java

UNAIR NEWS – Digital era is taking place, technology can provide convenience to the public in publishing the potential possessed in area. The potential of local nature or tourism must be heavily publicized for the sake of attracting domestic and foreign tourists.

On May 2-3 Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) East Java Province (East Java) organizes Majapahit International Travel Fair (MITF), which is attended by Tourism Office from various districts and cities in Indonesia. On that occasion, UNAIR Tourism Association (HIMA) Student Association (HIMA) participated in a tourism expo event at international scale in East Java on May 2-5 at Grand City Convex Surabaya.

HIMA D3 Tourism (HIMAPAR) UNAIR filled the talk show entitled “Vacation and Photography” by presenting speakers, Regina Ayu a traveler and influencer. An alumni of FEB UNAIR and Marko Savana a photographer. The enthusiasm of participant were very high.

Head of HIMA D3 tourism UNAIR, Meyliya Auretha explained she was very grateful that she always get an invitation at the biggest tourism expo in East Java, every year. Furthermore, the momentum is used to introduce HIMAPAR study program to public.

“We are here from May 2 -5, D3 Tourism friends were ready to help each other in maintaining booth and decoration. We divided the student shift time by adjusting to lecture hours. If they are free then they can be here to help maintain the stand.” she concluded.

In addition, there were also companies and e-commerce companies that could provide various benefits for D3 Tourism students. Students can take advantage of these moments in acquiring networks to collaborate with them.

Meyliya continued, with the implementation of these activities, she could find out the tourism potential of other regions. In addition, she also hopes the government will repair or build infrastructure that is used as access to potential tourist attractions but still untouchable.

At HIMAPAR stand, brochures and informants were available to answer all visitor questions about UNAIR Tourism D3. Meyliya invited millennials and public to take part in publication or expose tourism potential in Indonesia in order to attract foreign tourists and provide positive feedback to the local area because of the widely spread of information through social media is very easy thing to do.
