UNAIR NEWS – As one of the best universities in Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has made another achievement at national level. This time, Muhammad Fauzan Mubarok, Universitas Airangga (UNAIR) Faculty of Economics and Business (UNAIR) student won first place at national level Musabaqoh Hifdzil Quran (MHQ) Competition in 2019 Qurani Festival.
The Qurani Festival consists of 6 branches including MHQ 10 juz, MHQ 20 juz, MHQ 30 juz, Musabaqoh Fahmil Quran, Scientific Writing and Quran Writing and Recitation Contest for Children. The event was organized by State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya from Saturday, April 27, 2019 to Sunday, April 28, 2019.
Fauzan revealed that UNAIR is one of the universities that is very supportive to Quran studies. UNAIR also gives great attention to the memorizers.
“UNAIR has great concern to support students in memorizing the Koran,” he explained.
First, UNAIR provides special scholarships for Quran memorizers. The scholarship is in the form of free Single Tuition scholarship whose level is adjusted to the number of student Quran memorization.
“So for UNAIR students who memorized the Quran, there was additional motivation to continue to add, perfect and maintain the memorization of the Quran. Besides, it can also ease the burden on parents regarding funding for their studies, “he said.
Second, there is a Student Activity Unit that helps students memorize the Quran. The Tahfidzul Quran (UKMTQ) Student Activity Unit creates a supportive system for Quran reciters. UKMTQ provides weekly, monthly programs to improve AL-Quran memorization of UNAIR students.
“I am very grateful to be able to join UKMTQ, so I could meet extraordinary Quran memorizing friends,” he explained.
Furthermore, Fauzan provided motivation for UNAIR students to be passionate about memorizing the Quran. “Getting here, I am even sure that the sad or happy, the difficult or easy things in life is directly connected to intensiveness and quality of our interactions with the Quran,” he concluded. (*)
