UNAIRNEWS – Education Department of Accounting Student Association (HMA) Off Main Campus Study Program (PSDKU) Universitas Airlangga in Banyuwangi gave a new breakthrough in education realm among high school students. The new breakthrough was realized by holding Accounting and Economics Olympiad of Airlangga (Osing).
At inaugural event, Osing carried the theme of “Forming Competitive Young Generation Towards 2045”. Met by UNAIR NEWS after the event on April 28, Effatul Mila Aghnia as Head of 2019 explained Osing was opened for all students in Besuki Raya Residency and the registration was opened on March 13.
“There are 3 stages carried out by participants starting from preliminary round, semifinal round and final round. Thank God, there were 62 teams with a total of 124 participants.” he explained.
The participants consisted of many prestigious schools in Besuki Raya Residency such as MAN 1 Banyuwangi, SMK PGRI Rogojampi, SMKN 1 Banyuwangi, SMAN Darussholah Singojuruh, SMAN 1 Genteng, SMK Ihya Ulumuddin, SMK Gajah Mada, SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Genteng, SMAN 1 Besuki, SMAN 1 Giri and many more. Furthermore, PSDKU UNAIR Accounting study student hoped that the event will hone participants’ knowledge in the scope of accounting and economics.
In addition, Dimas Fajar Nurcholis as Head of Education Department at HMA PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi said the feedback obtained by participants was his involovement experience in the competition. Thus, participants could increase their enthusiasm in the competition.
“They got addition money and interesting merchandise,” he said.
It was recorded, the winner were Downstream Accounting 01 team from SMK PGRI Rogojampi, Brian’s team from SMA Negeri 1 Genteng as runner up and EA Squad team from SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Genteng as the third winner. Seeing the success and excitement of Osing in 2019, Education Department of HMA PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi hopes that there will be follow up event.
“Hopefully, we can hold the event for wider community in Java, Bali, or even in National scale,” concluded Dimas.
