UNAIR NEWS – Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Student Regiment (Menwa) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) prepared the best personnel for the National Education Day ceremony on May 2. This can be seen from the practice carried out every day in the field in front of UNAIR Management office. As seen on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Galih Aji Sukma, one of Menwa personnel assigned to Trisula, revealed that the practice had a very good impact. He hoped that it could remind students on the struggles of heroes, especially in the world of education in Indonesia.

“What is certain here is that we are trained to be responsible people. After the lectures I have to practice for the ceremony. That is my challenge for about one month, “Galih said.

Besides, continued Galih, they were also trained for teamwork as flag hoisting team cannot only rely on individual abilities. “It is like a stick that is strung together into a broom stick,” he added.

Pandhu Herlambang as Head of UKM Menwa revealed that in the practice, a lot of material was delivered by the task force to the personnel, starting from a standing posture, a salute, to a steady step. It aims to familiarize a neat and firm attitude at the flag hoisting ceremony.

“Practice was conducted by participants for one month. So far the exercises given such as movements in the place include a standing posture, at ease position, and formation training so that there are variations for the hoisting, “Pandhu said.

At the end of interview, Pandhu revealed that the duration of practice and presenting the formation at the ceremony were the efforts of Menwa to attract student enthusiasm. Also, to recall the struggle of education heroes in Indonesia.

“The essence of the ceremony is not just standing and getting hot. There are many ways to respect the struggle of heroes. Attending the ceremony is one of our ways to appreciate the services of our predecessors, “added Pandhu. (*)
