Education for Lamongan Citizens about World Banking Issues

UNAIR NEWS –  The lack of public knowledge related to banking issues, Student Association (Hima) Management Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) conducted community service activities. The themed was MB Goes to Village and MB Teaching activities held in Sendangrejo Village, Lamongan, East Java on April 20-21.

In the activity, students held various kinds of activities such as teaching, community service, seminars, and low cost market. In the activity, Andri Cipto Utomo as Head of the activity and Guntur Soma Rahardjo as Head of MB Goes to the Village attendede the event.

Andri revealed, one of the purpose of these activities was to instill  in saving money early.

“One of the activities of MB Goes to Desa is MB teaching, in which the activity aims to educate students to have the desire in saving their money” Andri said.

After MB Teaching activities, students held community service work with local residents. The activity was made to improve communication with local residents, thus students can understand the problems that exist in society.

In addition, students also held seminars with the theme of working capital loans that attract the enthusiasm of community.

Siti, one of the seminar participants said this kind of activitiy is great and need to be held again.

“The seminar program was very good and interesting. I learned more about bank and importantly for the community” she added.

In the end, Hima Banking Management students held a low-cost market. The event activity succeeded in attracting the enthusiasm of surrounding residents.

“The activity was really memorable, especially teaching and learning activities. Everyone responded positively. Hopefully, similar activities can be carried out because this kind of activities help the community to be innovative.” said Mi’ah, Head of Sendangharjo Village. (*)
