UNAIR NEWS – Raising the spirit of students, Student Executive Body (BEM) Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) watched film on Thursday March 28, 2019. The activity took place at FV canteen with students at FV UNAIR.

The activity titled “Watch Together and Discuss” (Nobar Besi) watched Tragedi Jakarta 1998. The high appeal of history and the role of students attracted the attention of students to attend the event. One of the participants, Satria Naufalino from Instrumentation Automation System (OSI) study program revealed his reason for attending the event.

“First, I was really interested in the discussion. Students mostly are less sensitive to current social problem. Hopefully, this activity will be held often so student will interested in this exist problem on society “said Satria.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Ashraff Khan as the chief executive of the activity revealed one reason why Tragedi Jakarta 1998 was used as a material to watch and discuss together.

“Seeing the sense of kinship between students who slowly diminished along with technology development, as well as the level of student interest in learning history starting to vanish” said Ashraff.

In discussion session, Ashraff shared information about the role of students in guarding existing government. Not by using violence as a solution. Because at this time, peope are facing super-fast technology era of industrial revolution 4.0.

“There are many ways to increase student sensitivity, technology for example. It allows us to engage with everyone through social media such as Twitter, LINE, YouTube, and others that can even touch millenial circles “he added.

On that occasion Head of BEM FV UNAIR Aditya Nurjulian also responded to current problems among students because sensitivity is like a trivial problem, but has a big impact.

“Apart from the events that occurred in the past, I have a mission to bring students who have the desire to discuss related current problem around us” explained Aditya.

“We are not rebels here, but we are more critical in responding to things because making a change is not always an anarchic way that might harms many parties, but it can be effective and creative. Make changes from small things to big changes, “he added. (*)
