UNAIR NEWS – As a manifestation of achieving 500 world ranking in 2019, Faculty of Humanities (FIB) and Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) participated on international accreditation, ASIC (Accreditation for International Schools, Colleges, and Universities).
UNAIR study programs assessed by ASIC assessors were English Literature (FIB) and all study programs at FISIP. On Tuesday, March 26 2019 the assessors assessed English Literature study program FIB and Library and Information Studies (IIP) FISIP, the activity were carried out in both faculties.
The assessor of independent UK-based international education accreditation service was welcomed by Saman Dance performence at FIB. Followed by assessors meeting with several UNAIR leader at FIB. Among other things, dean staff, head of department of study program, and head of administration.
The next activity, assesor team assessed the facilities provided in FIB. Including, meeting representatives from English literature study program.
Such as music rooms, history museums, computer laboratories, language laboratories, and gamelan rooms. After that, ASIC assessors met with representatives of English literature students to be assessed from their lecture activities.
Furthermore, this activity was also conducted at FISIP UNAIR and welcomed by Remo dance performance.
In addition, assessors with several FISIP leaders assessed the facilities in FISIP: broadcast laboratories, radio laboratories, design laboratories, ethnographic museums, mini theater, canteen, Soetandyo student corner, and Soetandyo reading room.
Dr.phil., Dra. Toetik Koesbardiati as the coordinator in ASIC accreditation for FISIP explained FISIP preparation for ASIC accreditation. She said FISIP had prepared accreditation since December 2018.
“We conducted a comparative study at Telkom University in Bandung to see what we should prepare,” said the lecturer of Anthropology study program in UNAIR.
“Started on December, we had been prepare for everything. Preparation and coordination with BPM. In addition, we managed to speed up in completing the required data and finally, this institution visit was carried out this week” he added.
It should be noted, ASIC accreditation was held on March 25-29 2019. The accreditation assessed 14 study programs at Campus B UNAIR. The study program were English Literature in FIB, and all study programs in FISIP. (*)
