UNAIR NEWS – The Community of Talent and Interest (Komikat) students of Universitas Airlangga Off Main Campus Program (PSDKU) in Banyuwangi does not only become a hobby community, but also become a community to share knowledge in the religious field. One of them is Interfaith Student Komikat (Komalima) which accommodates non-Muslim students at PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi.

Since it was formed on September 28, 2017, Komalima oversees 4 Departments of Religion, Christian, Catholic, Hindu and Buddhist Departments and is assisted by Ministry of Communication and Information. Each of these religious department has its own work program and there is also a joint work program such as community service. However, each of these work programs can still be followed by all members of Komalima as a place to gather, study and share together.

To UNAIR NEWS on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, Roberthus Nughriyanto Krisnono Putra as Head of Komalima 2018/2019 stated that Komalima was not formed as an organization, but as a home for its members.

“There are two main objectives of Komalima this year, the first is for internal membership and the second is for external relations,” explained Berthus.

The introduction of Komalima to members is the focus of their internal goals (Komalima, ed). Berthus expects members of Komalima to regard this club as a home, a place to develop themselves and return to the right path and become a safe space for their members.

While for external purposes, the man who is taking 4th semester of Accounting program explained that Komalima will establish relationships with similar organizations outside the campus.

“For example, Youth Organizations in Church or on campus or even in high school levels, we can build relationships from there,” he said.

He also stated that Komalima could not walk alone, as there is limited human resources in internal campus of PSDKU UNAIR. Therefore, he decided to embrace and establish relations outside the campus.

“In essence, Komalima is not a body or organization. Komalima is an organism, where we, as members of Komalima are parts of bodies and God is the head, “he concluded. (*)
