FEB UNAIR Delegation Holds Strategic Meetings with 22 Partners in Kuala Lumpur

UNAIR NEWS – The largest educational exhibition in Asia-Pacific that took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, became a golden opportunity for Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga to establish as many partnerships as possible.

FEB UNAIR at least conducted strategic meetings with 22 foreign partners at 2019 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition (APAIE) which was held from Tuesday to Thursday, March 26-28, 2019,  at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia.

The 22 foreign partners included Fontys University, The Hague University, Saxion University, Windesheim University, The University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands; FH Aachen University, Germany; Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Polytechnic and Community College, Malaysia; Istanbul Şehir University, Turkey; Universitas Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France.

Asia University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Yang-Ming University, National Central University, Taiwan; Nagasaki University, Japan; Myongji University, Yonsei University, South Korea; Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Thailand; and St. Paul University Philippines.

From many strategic meetings, some of them have been and are collaborating with FEB UNAIR, and some are new partners.

With new partners, the cooperation is in the form of International Program. The program leads to staff and student mobility, in the form of outbound and inbound, either part time or full time.

The first day of exhibition on Tuesday, March 23,2019 for example, FEB delegation had a strategic meeting with 10 foreign partner universities. Two of them, Amsterdam University and The Hague University, have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

“There are two universities that have agreed for MoU, Amsterdam University and The Hague University. It is new. There has not been before (cooperation, ed), “said the Vice Dean of FEB for Partnerships, Dr. Nisful Laila, SE, M . Com .

Meanwhile, continued Nisful, meetings with old  and current partners were carried out for evaluation and discussion on the possibility for further cooperation.

“With other universities, we evaluate the cooperation. Like with Saxion University. There is a double degree collaboration, “explained Nisful. “In essence, we monitor the existing ones and start new ones,” hse added.

Until 2019, the number of collaboration between FEB UNAIR and foreign partners is quite high. The target is cooperation with countries from five continents. Until now, continued Nisful, in total there were dozens of universities from 20 countries that had collaborated with FEB. The universities are from the continents of Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa.

“After last month we went to Japan, this year we hope there will be cooperation with American universities,” explained Nisful.

Through participating in APAIE, Nisful hoped that FEB UNAIR will establish collaboration with foreign universities. Thus, the network of UNAIR with the global community is expanded.

“This is a big event, almost 2000 delegates were present. They have the same interests. If we can make good use of it, then we can take advantage, “explained Nisful. (*)
