UNAIR NEWS – Center for Islamic Spirituality (SKI) is usually synonymous with work program of Islamic studies. Universitas Airlangga SKI Faculty of Social Sciences and Politics (FISIP) does only focuses on Islamic studies, SKI FISIP UNAIR made new innovations in its work program, especially women division. It is called Active and Creative Muslim Women (MUSTIKA), a new work program announced as a monthly agenda by Muslim Women division.

Responsible for the activities, Nova Alfi Yunisa stressed that MUSTIKA was established as a first step to form active and creative young people especially women.

“We want to show that in SKI there are not only Islamic studies, but also interesting work programs that can be used to develop our soft skills,” Nova said.

Then, seeing the piling up used bottles around the campus, SKI Muslim Women Division FISIP UNAIR took the initiative to reused them as crafts.

“We will process this bottle and make a variety of useful items. Such as flower pots, pencil cases, even makeup brushes, “explained Zanna Afia Deswari, Secretary of Muslim Women Division SKI FISIP UNAIR who participated in the event.

The activity held at Musala Darul Fikri FISIP UNAIR on Friday, March 22, 2019 received a good response from various parties. There were twelve people attended the event.

Zanna mentioned, in 2018 then SKI FISIP UNAIR also had a similar agenda, but it was not implemented well. The obstacle, continued Zanna, was due to a lack of Human Resources (HR) and also funds.

” Alhamdulillah, finally now the program is implemented smoothly. Hopefully, the future will be better, “explained the student of FISIP UNAIR Information and Library Sciences.

Please note, MUSTIKA activities do not only use used goods. The activity will later change themes every month. For next month’s activities, they will focus on knitting. Then, and origami for the month after, and so on. (*)
