UNAIR NEWS – 801 Student Regiment Student Activity Unit (UKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) achieved the highest score in National Joint Student Regiment Alumni Association (IARMI) Shoot Competition, March 16-17, 2019 at the Bedali shooting range, Lawang.

On that occasion, UKM Menwa sent one of his best personnel, Eka Candra or Ecan. The UNAIR Faculty of Medicine (FK) student made the highest score in each session.

In the competition which was divided into two sessions, Ecan managed to hit the targets from his 10 bullets in prone position. For the second session, he was sitting and standing, he managed to hit the target 19 times out of 20 bullets.

“In this activity, Alhamdulillah, I managed to get the highest score, after hitting the targets 29 time out of the 30 bullets provided,” said Ecan.

The reason Ecan followed student regiment in the midst of his busy life as a final semester student was to seek experience in the military field. Besides, being a military doctor was the dream of Ecan after graduating from college.

“Being a military doctor is my goal. I think Menwa is the right place for me to develop my potential and explore science in the military field, because in Menwa I was taught a lot of things about soldier science, “he said.

In the end, the student who had served as Head of Commission 1 of Student Legislative Board (BLM) FK UNAIR also encouraged other students to never be afraid of trying new things as long as they are positive and beneficial.

“As long as we believe that we are capable of development and accompanied by strong desires, it is not impossible for us to continue to excel. Don’t let the words of others limit ourselves. Because we have far greater potential than we ever imagined. Keep up the spirit, we all can do it, we are all great! ” said Ecan. (*)
