Reviewing Long Distance Marriage of TNI-AL Members

UNAIR NEWS – Interested in taking the topic of long distance marriages of TNI-AL members who are accustomed to leave their families for state duties years, Umi Inayah raised this issues to be the topic of her thesis. The thesis entitled “The Role of Husband’s Social Support for the Loneliness of TNI-AL Wives in Long Distance Marriage.”

“The Role of Husband’s Social Support for the Loneliness of TNI-AL Wives in Long Distance Marriage was the theme of my thesis” said Umi Inayah, the best graduate of Faculty of Psychology for the period of March 2019 with GPA of 3.70.

In addition, the women who was born in Samarinda on January 10, 1998 were actively participating in various competition. She became a delegation for Faculty of Psychology in olympics and competition. The most memorable things according to Umi was when she won the third place in Indonesian Psychology Olympiad at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and became a finalist in quiz competition at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP).

“Being a winner is not the most important thing. Experience is also important.” said the alumnae of SMAN 8 Surabaya.

Umi admitted, the struggle during her study was managing time. She felt anxious sometimes.

Currently,  she is now working as an intern in UNAIR Psychology Unit. She wanted to continue her studies in psychology of profession, but she still looking for scholarship now. To my junior, Umi advised “do not be afraid to try something new”.

“In the end of the day, what really matters is effort. Well, let God determines the result. We just need to try. It will be much better to lose in a battle rather than to lose before we fight.” she explained. (*)
