UNAIR FKM BEM Answers Doubts of Students to Study Abroad

UNAIR NEWS – Studying abroad is a dream for everyone, especially college students. However, there is always reluctance to try for it. There are always consideration on difficult requirements, expensive fees, and small opportunities.

Department of Research and Achievement, Department of Islamic Affairs of Executive Student Board (BEM) Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga 2019 collaborate with each other in accommodating the interest of students by holding a Share-On Ft. BINPRES DAI.

Titled “Tips on Qualifying for Exchange and Conference Programs “, the activity was held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Lecture Hall 13, 3rd Floor, FKM Campus C UNAIR. It was a sharing event which invited three speakers.

They were Ika Santi Widyasari and Nadhif Alfia Charista Kusniar as participants of 50th Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Conference, as well as Khoiriningtyas Ayu Puspita as participant of Asia Youth International Model United Nation (AYMUN). The three people are FKM UNAIR students who have succeeded in by attending conferences abroad.

“We invite students who have succeeded abroad so the message conveyed in this event can be understood well by the students,” said Della as chairman of this sharing event.

The three speakers gave tips and tricks to go abroad. They were sure that opportunity is very open for students who want to try. Regarding funding, there are still many sectors that will support.

Ika, an APACPH participant, gave some tips such as on essay submission. They should present global issue and have interesting title. An interesting title with interesting content and discussion will have a big impact on the participants’ qualification.

Meanwhile, Tyas, an AYMUN participant, also explained related to funding. “The funds can be found so don’t worry. Institutions that support activities like this are PUSPAS UNAIR, deans, and companies (English First (EF), PT Sier, Regional Government, BPJS), “he said

Tyas added, each exchange or conference program must have a focus and criteria for different participants. For example, MUN emphasizes diplomatic, advocacy and negotiation issues. The event participants are expected to be more interested and daring to apply for exchange and conference programs to make achievements and gain good reputation for UNAIR in international scene. (*)
