UNAIR NEWS – As one of the main programs that carry out the vision and mission of Universitas Airlangga, Basic Student Management Skills Training Program (LKMM-TD) was held again in 2019 by Student Resource Development Department (PSDM) KM PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi.
The LKMM-TD program lasts for 3 days from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, in Minak Jinggo hall of Banyuwangi district government. In his remarks on the first day of LKMM-TD, Muhammad Thohawi Elziyad Purnama, Drh., M.Si., revealed that LKM-TD program was a good opportunity for students to proceed.
Furthermore, the lecturer who is familiarly addressed as Thohawi also explained that LKMM-TD is a kind of regeneration event that discusses organizational management. For self-management, he continued, students had already obtained since they are freshmen in various programs such as Amerta, PKKMB, VOD and also their programs’ regeneration event.
“The output of this activity is that you go back to your respective student organizations, both KM, Hima, BSO, and komikat, then you improve the flow and culture of your organization there, starting from the organizational system to the work program,” explained the student affairs officer of UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU.
The program which was attended by hundreds of UNAIR PSDKU students in Banyuwangi, was attended by 8 speakers from UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU lecturers in 2017 and 2018. But for the 3 days, this time there were 13 sessions for the participants, from presentation about student development policy to the technique of preparing student activity proposals.
One material that is considered important is about determining the benchmark of success. Thohawi explained that there are a lot of activities conducted by PSDKU UNAIR students in Banyuwangi, but the proposals for the proposed activities are not accountable, one of them was about their benchmark for success.
“Most of your benchmarks for success are still ambiguous, unclear and floating,” he explained.
The FKH lecturer provided examples of benchmarks for success from an ELPT training activity. According to him, one example of a good benchmark for success for the activity is the ability of participants in doing 50 questions correctly in the listening sections.
“The benchmark indicator is not only quantitative, quality is also important. Don’t target the number of participants, because it’s useless if the quality is still unclear, “he concluded.
