UNAIR Holds UTBK Simulation with 4 Partner Universities

UNAIR NEWS – As the system of 2019 State University Joint Entrance Test (SBMPTN) is different from the previous year’s. Universitas Airlangga made preparations with the partner universities such as Dr. Soetomo University, Tujuh Belas Agustus University, Surabaya College of Economics, and Muhammadiyah University Surabaya.

The Computer Based Test (UTBK) registration will be carried out in two periods. The first period is from March 1 to March 24, 2019 and the second one is from March 25 to April 1 2019.

Vice Rector IV UNAIR, Junaidi Khotib, S.Si, Apt.,  M. Kes ,  Ph.D.said that preparations for rooms, laboratories, computers had been completed. Regarding the unpredictable conditions during UTBK, there is also anticipation and coordination with partner universities. Starting from the preparation of internet connection, network, to electricity preparation when UTBK is in progress.

“Servers from various locations must be prepared well. As this test concerns the future of the young generation in the future. Computer devices must also meet the standards of feasibility. So that the level of human error can also be anticipated, “he said.

Regarding the preparation, UNAIR and 4 partner universities have also conducted a simulation on March 9 in 38 rooms. The simulation was deemed successful and it can be immediately reported to the central committee.

Junaidi continued, there will be 20 test sessions, each has 1450 quota for each test session. HR and network preparation were made. Communication and coordination between partners and stakeholders were also encouraged to achieve success for this important event.

“Various obstacles were encountered in the field, but we immediately handled them. It is expected that one week before the implementation, all problems can be resolved and the test runs smoothly. So that UNAIR can provide the as best service as possible, “he added.

UTBK applicants in the first period have reached 94%. Communication and coordination can be conveyed well through various media to community and prospective students.
