PLN Seeks Potential Students in UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) hosted career seminars for all students and alumni. The event with the theme of Future Electricity Trough Human Capital Readiness was part of 31st Airlangga Career Fair (ACF). The seminar was held on Thursday, March 13, 2019 in Airlangga Convention Center building. PT PLN Persero became the main focus on the first day of AFC.

The PLN seminar was held to recruit volunteers who wants to join PLN. Later, they will be sent to several remote areas throughout Indonesia that have not received full electricity facilitation.

Muhamad Ali as Director of PLN’s Human Capital Management explained that the volunteers were not limited to education degrees. He added that everyone can be volunteer. Students, nature lovers, or millennial colleagues from various education degrees. The requirement is to serve the community that has not been touched by electricity.

“You can work and devote yourself. We can facilitate your aspiration.” said Ali in front of the seminar participants who filled the hall.

Moreover, Ali explained PLN volunteers were not only engineering graduates, but also non-technical graduates.

“We need a lot of millennial. Starting from finance, law, sociology, anthropology, and Dutch language experts,” he explained.

Dutch languange expert are needed because PLN assets are still have not been finished since the Dutch era. Moreover, the stored data are still in Netherlands.

Ali said on 2019, PLN had a marketing division. Therefore, PLN requires student volunteers from economic graduates.

“I know all of you can do It.” he firmly assured the seminar participants in the event.

In the end of the seminar, the atmosphere was even lively when a question and answer session was held. Moreover, one of the lucky audience got a gift package tour to Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. (*)
