UNAIR NEWS – Nur Ivada Pangestuti, student of Faculty of Vocational Studies Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is one of students who often make achievements in archery championship in East Java. The student taking Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) study have made achievements since she was in a senior high school (SMA).
From her participation in high school extracurricular activities, Ivanda won a lot of archery championships such as Regent Cup championship. The woman born in Pasuruan, June 17, 2000, who is keen on going to the movies had won three championships consecutively Regent Cup championship. This achievement was made from 2015-2017. But with her excellent achievements, Ivanda felt a sense of reluctance.
“Actually I wanted to quit archery because I want to focus on my college. But because the encouragement from my parents was very strong, I decided to take part in Archery Student Activity Unit (UKM), “said Ivada.
In addition to being an administrator of Archery Club, Ivada is also an administrator of TLM Student Association, Islamic division for 2018-2019 period. However, her tight schedule inside and outside campus does not prevent her desire to excel.
“Short study time because training is not an obstacle to make achievements,” she said.
Recently, she won 2019 Surabaya Archery Competition which was held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 in KONI field in Surabaya. In the championship, Ivanda managed to get a score of 319 from a maximum score of 360. With this score, Ivanda was ranked second out of 50 participants in Surabaya.
Ivada did not hesitate to share tips on how to manage time to stay on top in academic affairs.
“The tip is to use time available even though it is only short to study. So that when you practice and participate in a competition, mind can focus on the target. Because in archery, focus is the main thing, ” she added.
Ivada also hoped that students can take advantage from facilities provided by UNAIR. The facilities available are very beneficial for students to make achievements and gain good reputation for alma mater. (*)
