Three Faculties Ready for ASIIN International Accreditation

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) committed in improving the quality of learning process, academic mobility, research and community empowerment. For this reason, UNAIR continues to encourage itself to improve its international accreditation. One of them is ASIIN accreditation (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics / Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Mathematics) for each faculty.

On Monday, March 5, UNAIR opened international accreditation visitation meeting for its three faculties: Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), and Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs.

In the visitation, at least five ASIIN assessors were there. Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Meinhardt, Universitat Munster, Fachbereich Biologie; Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c Holger Jentsch, Leipzig’s Uniqueism, Leiter Funktionsbeereich, Pandontologie; Dr. Habil Sonja Kleinertz, Bogor Agricultural University, Java, Indonesia; Ms Witiya Almada, Student Representative; and Christin Habermann.

In his remarks, Prof. Nasih explained that UNAIR continued to strive for its excellence in education and research. Furthermore, the increasing number in research and innovation also quality of the program became the focus of UNAIR.

“To have a positive impact as an effort to increase UNAIR’s international recognition, I believe that ASIIN’s international accreditation is one of the effort step towards World-Class University.” said Prof. Nasih.

There were several things conveyed by Prof. Nasih in front of the assessors and audience. Among them were related to accreditation UNAIR has obtained, UNAIR’s achievements and the commitment of tri dharma implementation for higher education; learning process; the number of educators, administration and professors in UNAIR and scholarships.

According to Prof. Nasih, ASIIN accreditation is international recognition for the program in UNAIR. ASIIN is also an institution that recognizes natural science. In the future, social, economic and cultural activities will also be processed to obtain international accreditation.

“I believe, there are many things that we can do. I invited all invitations to be actively participate in discussions, which we can talk about in the future, “said Prof. Nasih.

Moreover, Prof. Nasih also expressed his gratitude for accreditation team in each faculty, including the program coordinator for all of their contributions in completing the entire process. Prof. Nasih also hopes that the international accreditation visitation will run smoothly and with this accreditation, the quality improvement will continue.
