UNAIR NEWS – After admitting outstanding students directly at Airlangga Education Expo a few weeks ago. This time, Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Nasih admitted students directly and openly during a Prayer Gathering of Universitas Airlangga’s High School in East Java.
In front of the press at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR (3/1), Prof. Nasih gave an explanation that it was the same as what he did in Airlangga Education Expo 2019. We admitted the students directly into UNAIR as they have outstanding academic and organizational achievements.
“They (students, ed) have been heads of student council and have good academic achievements, and in SNMPTN chose UNAIR, we admitted them directly,” he explained. “There were also those who memorize the Quran and choose FK, we are still considering it,” he added.
According to Prof. Nasih, there were seven students admitted directly. They were Salsabil Rifqi Qatrunada, from SMAN 14 Surabaya admitted into Development Economics program, Lutfiana Rahmawati, from SMAN 7 Surabaya admitted into Veterinary Medicine program, Andini Kirana Puspitasari, from SMK Gema Cendikia admitted into Biology program, Warfani Tri Arya Ariyati, from SMK Gema Scholarship was admitted into Physics program, and Annisa Nadifa Ramadani, SMAN 9 Surabaya was admitted into International Relations program.
Furthermore, after the East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa arrived, Prof Nasih immediately admitted two more students, Nurul Zavira, from SMAN 8 Surabaya admitted into Law program and Lailatul Qomariah, from Khadijah Senior High School was admitted into Law program.
“Indeed, it is a fortunate moment for them, we admitted them directly because of their achievements,” he explained.
Regarding the election, Prof. Nasih reiterated that he did it openly. So public know firsthand how they were admitted.
“In essence, this is indeed they were fortunate. They were willing to come here, and they have achievements as well,” he concluded.
