UNAIR NEWS – Steps and various efforts to become part of the world’s top 500 universities, continue to be carried out by academics of Universitas Airlangga. Moreover, curriculum structuring, development of the number and quality of research, increasing the number of community service continues to be the main focus of UNAIR’s progress towards international realm.
This time, several UNAIR leader led by Vice Rector III Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D., M.Si., Ph.D., signed various collaborations with several campuses In Japan. The visit of representatives from UNAIR to Japan last week, on February resulted in cooperation with Oita University and Asia Pacific University-Retsumeikan, Japan.
Contacted via WhatsApp, Prof. Amin said that his visit with several UNAIR leaders was intended to sign a cooperation program in order to increase publication and internationalization.
Cooperation with Oita University, according to Prof. Amin, has been going on for several years. This was realized by receiving doctors from FK UNAIR as doctoral students with scholarships from Japanese Government.
“Doctoral students during their class have carried out dozens of scientific publications in the top tier journal by including Oita University and UNAIR as author’s affiliates. Other cooperation has also been carried out for several years by adjunct professors, fellow researchers, and student exchanges, “he explained.
It was noted, in this activity the leaders who attended were Oita University representatives and Deans and Vice Deans of Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Economics and Business. Meanwhile, added Prof. Amin’s statement, Vice Dean III of FEB UNAIR Dr. Nisful Laila SE., M.Com., On the same occasion said that the visit was also to strengthen the conference activities which would be carried out by both parties.
“Asia Pacific University (APU) Retsumeikan Japan is a private university with the best international programs in Japan, with Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Economics and Business as a leading faculty,” he explained.
Asia Pacific University students, he continued, came from almost 100 countries and had research on Islamic finance and halal products. This is proven by launching halal soyu or Japanese soy sauce with honey ingredients.
“APU was also appointed by Japanese government to conduct studies related to Japan as halal friendly countries to welcome Olympics in Tokyo 2020,” he concluded.
