Improving Education Quality, UNAIR Holds International Accreditation Workshop

UNAIR NEWS – As one of the best universities in the world, Universitas Airlangga continues to improve education quality. One of them is measured by accreditation of universities and existing study programs. Not only improving national accreditation but also international accreditation.

Therefore, through Quality Assurance Board (BPM), UNAIR collaborated with Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) held workshops. Especially aimed at encouraging study programs to prepare for international accreditation. Located at Kahuripan 301 Room, Management Office Campus C UNAIR on Tuesday February 2, 2019 there were several Deans and Vice Deans of all faculties in UNAIR.

Representing Rector of UNAIR Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, S.E., MT., Ak., CMA., attended by Vice Rector I UNAIR, Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Sp. PD-KGH., Ph.D., FINASIM., In the discussion Prof. Djoko said that the workshop was a good step for faculty leaders in preparing  international accreditation. The collaboration workshop presenting by FIBAA said Prof. Djoko, must be utilized properly.

“Currently UNAIR has 17 national accredited study programs and 7 internationally accredited study programs,” said Prof. Djoko.

The discussion began with FIBAA international accreditation introduction presented directly by FIBAA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prof. Dr. Kerstin Fink. In her presentation, Prof. Kerstin explained that FIBAA is an international accreditation body that provides an assessment of university quality.

Prof. Dr. Kerstin added FIBAA has been active in contributing university quality in the world through accreditation for 25 years. This collaboration partner not only focused on regions of European continent, but also in other regions throughout the world.

“FIBAA is an internationally oriented European agent for quality assurance and development in higher education. We see ourselves as partners for higher education institutions and comparable education providers.” she said.

“The focus of our activity is management studies, law, social sciences, and economics. Through FIBAA, it is expected this accreditation workshop can improve study program quality in UNAIR towards World Class university.” she added. (*)
