UNAIR-MSU Collaboration Gives Global Leader Insights to Students

UNAIR NEWS – 30 students became delegates from Universitas Airlangga in Management & Science University (MSU) Malaysia to gain new leadership insight. The activity is one of Airlangga Mobility 2019 program which was held on Sunday-Tuesday (January 20-22).

Muhammad Fairuzzuddin Zuhair, one of the participants in the event said that Airlangga Mobility 2019 was the result of a collaboration between Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) UNAIR and MSU. The activity aimed in actualizing Universitas Airlangga into 500 World Class University (WCU). In additionit also for strengthening the collaboration between UNAIR and MSU.

“The activity expected to give additional global leaders insight to UNAIR students,” added Head of BEM UNAIR 2018/2019.

Fairuz said the series of activities were public lecture from Senior Vice President for Global Affairs & Strategic Communication, Dato Rosli Yusof regarding Being Different in 21 Century. In addition, MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato ‘Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid also gave a public lecture on Global Future Leadership.

Besides attending the public lecture, delegates from UNAIR also had the opportunity to discuss directly with MSU’s outstanding students. In addition, there was a Leadership Workshop held jointly with MSU Student Consultative Assembly (MPP).

Fairuz added from the activity, participants could learn on how the character of entrepreneurship must be possessed by every leader, including innovative, solutive, and resilient. According to him, the values ​​of an entrepreneur’s character can be valuable for future leaders.

“As UNAIR students, we should become a leader who have broad insight and knowledge about the world,” he said.

Fairuz explained, having broad insight would give us more opportunities in the future. In addition, it can also create opportunities to develop the potential of the people around us.

“With this activity, participants can gain a lot of experience to interact with overseas students and increase motivation to continue their studies abroad,” he added.

With the implementation of these activities, Fairuz hope that Universitas Airlangga can work well together with industrial world to develop the potential of students’ resources.
