The MoU was signed by Head of UNAIR Center for Career and Entrepreneurship Development, Elly Munadziroh and Director of Human Resources (HR) of PT Pelindo III Toto Heliyanto. The signing ceremony took place at Head Office of PT Pelindo III, Surabaya.

There were representatives from 13 Indonesian universities who also signed the MoU. Compared to other universities, there were a lot UNAIR students selected to take part in the internship. From 68 students in Batch 2, 20 students came from UNAIR.

“This certified internship program was initiated by FHCI, the Indonesian Human Capital Forum. FHCI is an association of BUMN (human resource, ed) in Indonesia. “The government initiated a certified internship from BUMN, for 6 full months,” Elly said.

In this internship program, PPKK together with BEM UNAIR had the role of disseminating the internship program to students. Students from various faculties in UNAIR participated in this certified internship program such as from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Faculty of Public Health (FKM), Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Postgraduate School.

In addition to an internship at PT Pelindo III, there were 25 students who are registered as interns in BUMN, such as in PT Angkasa Pura II; BNI Kanwil Surabaya; BRI DKI Jakarta; Grand Inna, Medan; PT Inka, Madiun; Inna Sindhu Beach Resort and Hotel, Bali; Jamkrindo Surabaya; PT Jasa Raharja, Bali; Jasa Tirta I; PT Pelindo II; Perum Perhutani; Surabaya PJB; PT PAL Indonesia; PTPN 10, 11 and 12 Surabaya; and PTPN Banyuwangi.

“We want more people to be able to do internships, absorbed more, have faster careers, and make achievements faster,” said Elly. (*)
