UNAIR NEWS – The Health Service Center (PLK) Universitas Airlangga  has collaborated with Health Social Security Agency (BPJS) since November 1, 2014. BPJS Health is a body that provides quality health social security for the entire population of Indonesia.

Health BPJS adheres to the principles of social insurance and equity with the aim of ensuring patients get the benefit from health care and protection.

It was started from a meeting for a number of university clinics in 2018 in Jakarta, the Bandung Institute of Technology Clinic (ITB), which has not yet collaborated with BPJS, wanted to conduct a comparative study visit to universities that have collaborated with BPJS. Seeing the progress of PLK UNAIR in managing BPJS Health services, ITB Health Service Unit decided to conduct a comparative study to UNAIR on Saturday, January 12 at Kahuripan Room 301, UNAIR Management Building.

During the visit, there were two agendas prepared by PLK UNAIR. The first session was at 10:00 a.m., a presentation about the management of PLK UNAIR by Dr. Ernawaty, drg ,. M.Kes as Head of PLK UNAIR. Furthermore, the comparative study participants were invited for clinic tour at PLK Campus C and B UNAIR.

In her presentation, Dr. Ernawaty briefly introduced PLK UNAIR to the participants. She explained the history of PLK UNAIR since its inception. After that, there was a presentation from the management of PLK UNAIR and interesting discussion as the participants asked a lot of questions.

After Dzuhur prayer, the comparative study participants were invited to visit PLK Campus C and PLK Campus B UNAIR. Facilities at PLK UNAIR are general clinic, dental clinic, sterilization room, administration room, lactation room, management room, and observation room.

“The current status of PLK UNAIR is as a first-tier clinic in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan. The main function that must be carried out by PLK UNAIR as the first-tier clinic is as a health care gate keeper. There are 195 diseases diagnostic that must be resolved at the first-tier clinic in the city of Surabaya, according to the mandate of the Surabaya City Health Office, ” she said.

PLK UNAIR as the first-tier clinic built a network with UNAIR Pharmacy, midwives and the Kimia Farma laboratory.

“For 3 days, ITB Health Service Unit planned to conduct a comparative study at 3 clinics owned by state universities, UNAIR, ITS, and UB,” said Dr. Ernawaty

In the end, Dr. Ernawaty hopes that after conducting a comparative study, the ITB Health Service Unit in the future will be able to develop better health services especially in collaborating with BPJS Kesehatan. (*)
