UNAIR NEWS – In order to socialize the rules for National Higher Education Entrance Exam (SNMPTN) 2019, Universitas Airlangga has an opportunity to promote its institutions to wider community. UNAIR Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) was invited to join Edu Fair Campus Expo together with universities throughout East Java. The activity took place on Thursday, January 10 at SMAN 18 Surabaya which began at 8:30.
PIH UNAIR explained the new regulation for Admission of New Students (PMB). Starting from SNMPTN, SBMPTN, to Independent Admission. Class of XII SMAN 18 Surabaya participants were very enthusiastic in this socialization activities. Moreover, the participants enthusiasm was seen with the establishment of interactive communication between students and UNAIR public relations staff.
PIH UNAIR Staff, Anindya Anindita said that PIH UNAIR participation in Campus Expo 2019 was a real step to provide complete and clear information to prospective students in 2019. Especially providing equal educational facilities for all students who want to be UNAIR student.
“Hopefully, this socialization will make students understand about the new admissions system. Students are expected not only focus on the current changes, but also prepare themselves in national entrance exam, “he said.
In addition, the percentage number of prospective students to be accepted was also slightly different. The percentage of prospective students from the SNMPTN is 20%, SBMPTN is 40%, and independent admission is 30%. National entrance exam 2019 will be Computer Based Writing Exam (UTBK).
The exam group consists of Saintek (science and technology) and Soshum (social and humanities). Each participant is allowed to take the test twice.
“For UTBK test material, it consists of two: scholastic potential test (TPS) and academic competency test (TKA),” said Anin.
Meanwhile, one of class XII students Ganjar Darwaji expressed his hapiness in participating this socialization activities. There are a lot of information about tips on entering college, especially UNAIR, which can be found on this event.
“I became more informed and could explore a lot of knowledge about faculties and departments in UNAIR. I’m interested in entering communication science department to improve my ability to communicate, “he said.
