UNAIR NEWS – Wildan Hafata Yahfitu Zahra should be proud of her several achievements that she made. Majoring in Historical Science, she became an outstanding graduate in Faculty Humanities, Universitas Airlangga. During her time as a student, she liked to explore her passion in writing said the girl who familiarly called Ata.
For Ata, participating in writing competitions is a pleasure. She found a meaning of a long process before winning an award. She insisted to write and be the best version of herself.
“I have another definition of achievement. I measure it not only with awards, but also with soft skill in writing that usefull for her as a student, “she explained.
During the competition, Ata said found many obstacles. Like the financial problem that she can’t afford, college assignments, and the laziness that sometimes crossed her mind.
“Feeling heavy and wanting to stop writing are there sometimes. But I am not alone because I have a friend who always encourages me when I’m tired and even invites me to rise when I get worse. For me friends are the most valuable, ” he explained.
In writing, Ata claimed that she was inspired by Sarkawi B. Husain Chair of the History Science Program. According to her, Sarkawi is an important figure during my college year. We all know, students often make mistakes and need to practice attitude. However, Sarkawi is a person who was good at providing opportunities, learning, and motivation to students.
While pursuing the world of writing, Ata has received several awards, including; First Winner of National Scientific Writing Competition in 2016; Hope III Historical Writing of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture 2017; Finalists of the 2016 UPI Indonesian Student Researcher Festival; Finalists of the Lingart Essay Competition UNNES 2018; and 1st Winner of the 2015 UNAIR FIB PIM Competition (*)
