UNAIR NEWS – It has been 25 years since Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of Universitas Airlangga was established. During that time, FKM UNAIR was here to provide quality education for the next generations.
Today, FKM UNAIR has become a reliable and excellent educational faculty. In its journey, FKM UNAIR experience ups and downs from its journey.
Initially, Public Health Program, Bachelor degree (S1) only accepted students from Diploma 3 Health program graduates and people who had worked for at least two years. Now FKM provides Master degree program (AKK, epidemiology, K3, environmental health, and public health) and Doctoral degree (Public Health). After a quarter of a century, FKM UNAIR also holds an A accreditation.
To celebrate this joyful moment, the peak of FKM Anniversary was held on Saturday, 3 November at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) building. There were Home Band of FKM UNAIR, The Lecturer Band by FKM lecturers and the performance of each club in FKM (saman, traditional, modern dance).
There was announcement of the winners of the Dean Cup (ILM, PHGT, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Cooking Contest, Badminton and Health Debate) and FKM ambassador selection. In the end, there was Jeka from Indonesian Idol as guest star.
“From the whole activities, this year ‘Gebyar FKM’ became the highlight of the liveliest event,” said Safira Anis Rahmawati as the event coordinator.
According to Safira, this year’s anniversary event was beyond expectations. Everything went smoothly without significant obstacles. Enthusiasm from all academics starting from the dean, lecturers, employees, students, even from the foodstalls seller were extraordinary.
All performance presented was amazing, especially for the line dance special appearance, acollaboration between students and team of lecturers, it was awesome.
“Alhamdulillah, a lot of people came. All FKM elements can be united and mingled at the FKM Anniversary Night event, “she added.
In the future, hopefully FKM can continuously grow and expand its role in international world. Also, maintained the existence and achievements that have been made. (*)
