2018 Islamic Fair of Public Health Closed with Tabligh Akbar

UNAIR NEWS – Islamic Fair of Public Health (IFoPH) is an annual activity held by the DAI Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga and the themed for this event was Islamic vibes competition festival based on public health science. IFoPH 2018 held in two days and closed on Sunday, 4 November at Ulul Azmi Mosque.

Muhammad Ziddan Zaelani as head of the committee explained that this activity was inspired by the desire of DAI members to give innovative Islamic preaching. There were competitions and tabligh akbar. They hoped that this can enrich the Islamic heritage which is matched with public health knowledge and strengthen the culture of Islam in the campus environment.

“This activity aims to enrich our knowledge in the religion and brings vibrant spirit in Islam to campus and apply religion knowledge to public health science.” said Ziddan.

Meanwhile, there were four types of competitions held. For instance, LKTIA, Poster, Nasyid Acapella, and Tahfidz. In each competition, there were four winner as champion, runner up, third place and fourth place.

“The race was attended by at least 100 participants from various branches of the competition with various age ranges,” said Ziddan.

According to Ziddan, there was a new innovation in the implementation IfoPH this year like tabligh akbar as the closing event.

“In the previous year, the activity was closed with a seminar. However, this year, we decided to close the competition festival with a tabligh akbar, “he added.

Ziddan explained, the tabligh akbar was aimed at being a distinctive feature of DAI BEM FKM. Considering, there have been many seminars held by Ormawa (student organizations) in FKM. Because of that, the committee wanted to give a new idea on delivering the purpose of this event.

“After this activity was held, I hope everyone knows that learning about religion is not only obtained in mosque. But studying Islam can be done in everywhere and in any form.“ said Ziddan. (*)
