With Pacarkeling Health Center, Psychology Students Present Mental Health Science to Teens

UNAIR NEWS – In commemorating Mental Health Day, Master’s degree students of Psychology held community service on Sunday, October 13. Entitled ABG Jaman Now Anti Galau, Achmad Syamsyudin as chairman of the activity, along with his friends, the M11 group, has a mission to build youth who are physically and physically healthy.

The program at Taman Mundu collaborates with the UPTD Puskesmas Pacar Keling, the Surabaya City Health Office. In the event, Dr Hanik Endang Nihayati, S. Kep., Ns., M. Kes., observer of teenage and FKP UNAIR lecturer was also present.

“Today is very special, the teens will be given motivation by the master’s students and can ask questions about the problems they experienced,” said Hanik.

Meanwhile, Moh Jufriyanto, the main speaker, compared two pictures.  images of crying people and people who look happy. Jufri then asked the teenagers about the two pictures.

The question was responded enthusiastically by teenagers from various schools. Responses were diverse. Some consider it an expression of sadness, there is a problem, stress, depression, to an error.

“Actually, long-term sadness is the problemIf there is a problem, we must find a solution and express it in a positive and creative way, “said Jufriyanto.

People’s response to this determines whether the person is healthy or not. Jufriyanto added, people who are mentally healthy have healthy and happy feeling and are able to overcome life’s challenges or problems, not avoiding it or running away, but facing it and solving it.

Furthermore, in the event, the youth was explained the criteria of healthy people, the criteria mental disorders, symptoms and factors that cause a person to experience mental disorders, including tips on how to be an anti-upset teenager.

After the material was delivered, there was an interesting thing done by teenagers from the results of the program at Pacarkeling Health Center. The teenagers published a book, containing a collection of works they wrote. The book is launched on that day.

In the end, Hanik hoped, after the event, the teenagers must spread what they got. “The teenagers here must be enthusiastic. Don’t be lazy at this event. Because, after going to school, this knowledge must be spread and also invite more friends to participate in the activity of Youth Posyandu, “said Hanik. (*)
