UNAIR NEWS – October is an important month for Faculty of Vocational Studies Universitas Airlangga. The faculty established in 2014, in collaboration with Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Forum (FPTVI), held a major event entitled 2018 National Vocational Education Festival. The series of events will be held from October 16 to 19 at UNAIR.
The events will be started with OLIVIA 3.0 (Indonesian Vocational Olympiad 3.0) which consists of several competitions. It includes vlog competitions, embedded device and system competitions, scientific writing competitions (LKTI), web design competitions, English debate, business plan competition, and live cooking. The total prize for the competitions reached 70 million rupiah.
There will be 5th Congress of FPTVI themed ‘Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Faces the 4.0 Industrial Revolution’ with national-scale speakers. There will be the Coordinating Minister for Economy Dr. Darmin Nasution, RI Presidential Chief of Staff General (Ret.) Dr. Moeldoko, SIP, East Java Governor Dr. H. Soekarwo, SH. M.Hum. The Congress will be held on October 16 at Garuda Mukti Hall, Campus C Management Office UNAIR, and attended by leaders of 112 non-polytechnic vocational colleges throughout Indonesia.
The following day, an international conference on Vocational Innovation and Applied Scince will be held. The keynote speaker will be Mayor of Surabaya City Dr. (HC) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, MT. This international conference will be attended by vocational lecturers from all over Indonesia, at Wyndham Hotel Surabaya, October 17.
On October 18, the event’s committee will hold a film screening entitled Tengkorak, a work of a vocational lecturer at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, who is a member of FPTVI.
There will be also an Indonesian vocational product exhibition which will be held on October 18-19 at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR.
In the final event, the joint committee of BEM Faculty of Vocational Studies invited Yovie and Nuno as guest stars. (*)
