UNY Lecturers Deepen Policy Management at UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) received a visit from some lecturers of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) on Tuesday, October 2.  This visit was carried out in order to develop Department of Education Policy Program in UNY of Faculty of Education (FIP). Primarily, FIP UNY wants to learn more about the Master of Public Policy Management program in FISIP UNAIR.

Being held at Adi Sukadana room, Building A FISIP, the event was opened by Dr. Antun Mardiyanta, Drs., MA as Head of Department of Public Policy Management (MKP). And then, a speech was delivered by Dean of FISIP, Dr. Falih Suaedi., Drs., M.Sos. In his speech, Dr. Falih expressed his gratitude for the visit.

The event continued with an explanation and a brief profile display on S2 MKP program by Dr. Antun Mardiyanta. Dr. Antun explained that many students of S2 MKP UNAIR received educational scholarships from several institutions, such as Developing Country Partnership (KNB), Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), Airlangga Development Scholarship (ADS), local government scholarships, and so on.

Some lecturers from Faculty of Education Yogyakarta State University at FISIP UNAIR on Tuesday (2/10).

Besides, Dr. Antun also said that the program is working with Malaysia’s Universiti Teknologi Mara to plan a dual degree program.

During the discussion, the Dean of FISIP UNAIR also added suggestions to the FIP UNY to  lobby  the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform further. This strategy is needed so the graduates of public policy programs can penetrate the national level of work.

One of the lecturers, Hendrowibowo, M.Pd., expressed his impression on the visit. He was very grateful for the warm welcome from the host. According to him, the group from UNY felt honored.

“Especially when we arrived, the welcome was extraordinary, as guests we felt ‘honored’,” he said.

Before stopping at FISIP, the lecturers also visited Campus A UNAIR, as well as the Ethnographic Museum in FISIP. Hendro hoped, after this activity, FIP UNY could continue to consult with FISIP UNAIR. So that both universities can share and carry out further collaboration, as well as joint research between campuses. (*)
