UNAIR NEWS – Keen on reading comics and listening to music, Claudia Anridho successfully became the best master’s degree graduate of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Claudia managed to get a 3.76 GPA.

Behind her success on becoming the best graduate of FISIP in June 2018, Claudia has some interesting experience during college. Claudia said that she was in a class but it felt like private lesson because there were not many students. In addition, Claudia once had to look after her mother during college.

“I had to take my mother to the hospital once when there was only an hour long interval between classes. So I had to speed home, then take the mother and return to campus, “she said.

Regarding her final assignment, the woman who was born in Surabaya, January 14, 1995, wrote a thesis entitled ” Higher Education Discourse on Chinese and Madurese Families in Surabaya City”. The title was chosen because according to Claudia, there are not many studies related to higher education on Chinese and Madurese community.

“The two ethnic groups are ethnically focused on trade and business values. However, there is also another value, namely high education, ” she added.

The second child of two siblings also discussed about the link between decision making on higher education for children with parents thought. The practice of discourse is dominated by parents consideration so the child is only the executor of the parents’ wishes.

Students who are active in the committee have also earned the best thesis writing in department of anthropology. It was achieved in the period of graduation September 2016.

“I just enjoy my study, have fun . If we are happy and sincere, the results would also be satisfactory, ” she said.

Regarding tips and tricks to be the best graduates, Claudia claimed to often read books and journals and understand the contents. In addition, discussions with lecturers as well as with colleagues are no less important.

“When we need more spirit boost, remember the smile of our parents when we were accepted at UNAIR,” she said.
