UNAIR NEWS – Eid al Fitr cannot be separated from several things, from eating ketupat, visiting neighbors, to returning to hometown tradition or mudik. For some people, it is most eagerly awaited annual tradition to gather with the extended family. This moment is perceived as an opportunity to meet all relatives.

As usual, the Student Executive Board of Airlangga University (BEM UNAIR) in cooperation with the Department of Transportation (DISHUB) provides free mudik facilities for UNAIR students and the general public. The requirement to participate in this program is only by copying Student Identity Card (KTM) for student and Public Identity Card (KTP) for the public. On June 9, yesterday, BEM UNAIR dispatched more than 300 travelers. This year’s quota is bigger than the previous year.

Some of the routes passed this time is Bojonegoro, Sumenep, Ponorogo, Trenggalek, Blitar, and Banyuwangi with gathering point at Campus C UNAIR.

Through the program, BEM UNAIR become student facilitator. As it is an obligatory tradition for students to return home. This facility is also used as a form of introduction to the community and as a support to the government program.

“Hopefully with this program, BEMUNAIR can become a student facilitator because basically this exodus as a mandatory tradition for students to return home and we facilitate them so students should be able to feel the government program with this program, especially only UNAIR and ITS which conduct the program, “said Satria as Minister of Community Service.

In addition to free mudik, the Ministry of Community Service has done two of their programs. Both are Ramadan Ceria and Sahur on the Road (SOTR).
