UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga is in high spirit to conduct research. After receiving some research grants from several state institutions, Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga made efforts to establish collaboration in the field of research.

A positive response was given by Faculty of Dentistry, Tohoku University, Japan as a team of experts from Tohoku University provided workshops to all staff of the department of Prosthodontics Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga.

In the interview, Head of Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Nike Hendrijantini, drg., M.Kes., Sp.Pros (K) stated that the Tohoku team, consisting of Prof. Sasaki, Assoc. Prof. Guang Hong and Prof. Shimidzu, gave two workshops on animal perfusion and Methyl Metacrilat Embeding (MME).

“Both of these techniques have not been done in all faculties of dentistry throughout Indonesia. With the improvement in skills, there will be a lot of research can be done “, said Nike.

In a separate interview, Prof. Sasaki also expressed a very high appreciation on Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga due to its developing research activity.

Professor of Prosthodontics who is also Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Tohoku University saw a very significant change from the research process in Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga.

At the end of the interview, the adjunct professor of FKG UNAIR said that the collaborative research can produce more international journals.

“And this initiation will be a good start in the future,” he added.
