UNAIR NEWS – The biggest event of Semi Autonomous Body (BSO) of Young Jurist Airlangga Society(MYMA) Faculty of Law (FH), Airlangga Law Competition (ALC 2018), was successfully held on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5. Combining three events in one is not an easy matter. However, the event of seminars, senior high school and college student debates, as well as scientific writing competition (LKTI) was able to make a good impression on the participants.

Coming from various regions throughout Indonesia, apparently, Gadjah Mada University was able to win from two categories. Here is the list of winners of each category. High School Debate, First Winner (SMA Taruna Nusantara) and Second Winner (SMA Hendrikus Surabaya). Student Debate, First Winner (Gadjah Mada University), 2nd Winner (University of Surabaya), and 3rd Winner (Trunojoyo University). Meanwhile, for LKTI, the category was won by Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The announcement of the winners was nicely presented. The LKTI announcement used a flying balloon with name of the winner. A balloon was given to ten finalists and they popped it together. For the debate competition, Drama club (UKM) Teater Mata Angin presented the winners.

“So, for the announcement of this debate, the drama club took the stage. The concept was a grandmother looking for her grandchildren. Representatives of the four teams competing were invited by the grandmother and given a will. In the will that, the winners were written, “said Desi as Director of MYMA.

Furthermore, after the competition, the participants were entertained by a city tour. This year the region chosen to be visited was Madura Island.

“We chose Madura because we want to introduce the greatness of infrastructure in Surabaya. We chose to visit Suramadu, so we went to Madura. It was also because it was related to the ALC theme that emphasizes the infrastructures, ” she said.

Desi added, the participants were very enthusiastic when passing Suramadu bridge. This is evident from the response of the participants who recorded and uploaded the beauty of Suramadu in their social media accounts. (*)
