UNAIR NEWS – Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKM) Universitas Airlangga conducted a research in Kedungpandan, Tlocor Village, Sidoarjo Regency, last week, April 6-8. For three days, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) on education was the focus of the theme.
Melly Oktaviany, one of the team members, revealed that in addition to conducting research and following a competition event, the activity was aimed to find out more about the meaning of education in the village as the condition of the village was at disadvantaged especially in terms of education.
“Therefore, we want to know the cause in order to provide an appropriate solution,” she said.
According to Melly, before the village was selected, the team conducted a survey to several locations, hamlets or other villages to get the appropriate village.
After information gathering through observations and talks with some of the sources there, Melly and members of UKM Reasoning held a discussion. Kedungpandan of Village Tlocor finally chosen as a place of research because it has interesting things to study.
“We found something which should not happen there as it is close to the cities Sidoarjo and Surabaya, but it happens there as a fact, one of them was about education, “said Melly.
Melly added, in the research phase, many things have been prepared by the team. During the preparation, there was a lot of discussion and presentation on research related materials. In addition, during the research, Melly said, they gained a lot of experience.
“In addition to applying our own discipline by observing the village condition, a few days there made us aware that in life, we must always be grateful. Because, there are many others who are not as lucky as ourselves, “said Melly.
After the research, a series of facts found are expected to bring new ideas. These ideas can bring real solutions that help citizens and governments.
“And, the resulting paper can be an inspiration for others to keep in mind the state of the village, especially the effort to achieve better Indonesia, ” she said. (*)
