UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C Universitas Airlangga looked crowded on Tuesday, March 6. UNAIR Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center held Airlangga Campus Recruitment 2018. It was held for recent graduates and students who will have their graduation.

There were 24 companies participating to seek potential human resources from UNAIR. The companies were in banking, construction, industry, education and services.

Based on the observation of UNAIR NEWS, the participants lined up in front of the ACC entrance since the opening ceremony. The booth of BUMN in the banking sector attracted many participants. In fact, online registration and data entry sessions reached three lines of queue.

Representing PPKK, Tubiyono, S.S., M. Hum., revealed that ACR 2018 is the first UNAIR career recruitment event in 2018. This time the event was held in a limited scale, just for a day on Tuesday, March 6.

“It works as a bridge between students who have graduated or before graduation and multinational companies, especially for UNAIR graduates, “he said. “There are some companies that open booths here, state-owned and private, “he added.

To the students, Tubiyono hoped the activity can be utilized well. In addition, students are encouraged to actively undertake career training by UNAIR through PPKK such as soft skills training and entrepreneurship.

“The opportunity to be a student must be put to good use. Hone your characters, soft skills, and abilities beyond the academic. Next, use and optimize the opportunities available, “he explained.

Meanwhile, Prof. Ir. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, M. Si., Ph.D., in his speech revealed that recruitment must at least require three things, ability, will, and opportunity.

“These three things will lead us to truly qualified candidates. What we really want, ” he said.

The match between potential and work can make a person grow. Therefore, he continued, in the future UNAIR will create recruitment program on one year before the students graduate. So, the potential can be honed and seen well.

“For example in Japan, recruitment has begun a year before students graduated. His track record since VII semester is considered. His GPA, team work , and soft skills. In the end, the criteria of seeking the best human resources in line with the company expectation can be fulfilled, “he said.

“In the future, it could be done, between companies and universities. And, hopefully this cooperation can continue to be well established, “he added. (*)
