UNAIR NEWS – There is something unique in the graduation ceremony of Universitas Airlangga in March 2018. The atmosphere of graduation procession held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR on Sunday, March 4, was different from previous graduation procession.
It was because the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., instantly made a scene during the procession with one of the graduates, Dr. Suko Widodo, M.Si., as Head of the Center for Information and Public Relations (PIH).
In the procession, Suko looked familiar with the Rector of UNAIR. After receiving a diploma from the Dean of FISIP, Suko walked to the rector. Prof. Nasih shook hand in an unusual way done to graduates. Both shook hands like equals and smiled to each other.
It was even surprising when Suko bowed his head, the Rector UNAIR took the toga hat and threw it up spontaneously. Meanwhile, Suko laughed in joy and immediately grabbed his hat.
“It was a form of joy. In essence, the graduation is about joy. Pak Suko’s study is also over and he can think more for the progress of UNAIR, “said Prof. Nasih met by media crew after graduation procession.
After that incident, Suko immediately turned around and threw his hat again with joy. Then, to all the graduates Suko waves his hands together with a diploma and a academic robe hat.

Suko who is also the first public space doctor in Indonesia was asserted, in seeking truth, time is not a factor. Moreover, the real graduation is only a procession and expression of joy, not the final phase in search of knowledge.
“After graduation I feel very relieved. And the Rector told me to always apply knowledge in all levels of society, “he said.
