UNAIR NEWS – Kompas and Universitas Airlangga have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide quality information services for the academic community. The event was held at the Airlangga Convention Center Building (ACC), Campus C UNAIR, Surabaya, Friday, February 23.
The MoU by Kompas and UNAIR established cooperation in providing Kompas.id services based on IP through campus wifi area for a period of 3 (three) months. So, the academic community connected to UNAIR campus WiFi will get free access to all Kompas.id content without any subscription fees.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak, CMA., revealed that UNAIR cooperation with Kompas gives mutual benefit. Academic community in campus will get credible news and Kompas will receives the thought of academics of UNAIR.
“All contents in Kompas can be accessed. This is for the needs of all academicians in teaching and learning activities. So, the students get the best education, “said UNAIR Rector.
In line with the development of the information and communication technology industry, the aspect of quality content plays an important role, the service aspect plays an important role in maintaining the loyalty of users. To that end, UNAIR continues to emphasize the critical attitude in responding to the information circulating in the community by transferring knowledge to students as agents of change.
Kompas and Universitas Airlangga cooperation is a joint step in welcoming the era of digital society. Moreover, this cooperation is a form of mutual commitment to always provide perfect service for Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Chief Editor of Kompas Budiman Tanuredjo revealed, in the year 2017, Kompas gave birth to innovation in the form of a digital platform named Kompas.id. The presence of Kompas.id is a response from Kompas Daily on the development of technology. Through this paid digital platform Kompas Daily presents information and news quality same with Kompas Daily in digital format.
This new platform allows readers and members of Universitas Airlangga academic community to get in-depth report of Kompas Daily, with lots of photos and research results.
“The presence of Kompas.id as a dynamic platform is expected to complement Kompas Daily presence in the community”, said Budiman.

Meanwhile, Head of UNAIR Information and Public Relations Center, Suko Widodo, stated that the synergy with the Kompas is a form of UNAIR’s commitment as an institution of higher education to counter the fake news in circulation by presenting quality information service through Kompas.id service.
