UNAIR NEWS – Rectors and representatives from 10 State Universities in East Java attended a work meeting held at the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya on Wednesday, February 20. It was held to establish a relationship and share about the state university admission selection.

Such as State University National Admission Selection (SNMPTN) and State University Joint Entrance Test (SBMPTN). In addition, the meeting discussed the ideas of President Joko Widodo presented in Makassar.

The ten universities were UNAIR, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), UB (UB), State University of Malang (UM), State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Ampel, Trunojoyo Madura University (Unijoyo), National Development University “Veteran” (UPN), State University of Jember (Unej), State University of Surabaya (UNESA), and State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim.

Head of the Rector Forum, Moh. Hasan said the rectors’ meeting will be routinely held to discuss important issues related to education.

“The forum’s structure was not formalized. The important thing is we work together and discuss important issues, “said UNEJ Rector.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Moh Nasih said that if vocational school graduates want to continue studies to college, they should take a D3 program or study in polytechnic. Therefore, it would be inconsistent if graduates of SMK continue to S1 degree.

“It would be nice if SMK graduates continue to Vocational or Polytechnic because their studies were based on practice, “said Prof Nasih. (*)
