UNAIR NEWS – In the regular morning calisthenics and fun walk event with the academic community of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., invited all academicians of UNAIR to implement the Germas (Healthy Life Movement) program, a government program instructed by the President.

“Germas is the Presidential instruction, and passed on as the instruction of rector. With Germas, we are expected to live healthily, improve productivity and high competitiveness, to be able to support the target of university to be a World Class University, “said Prof. Moh Nasih, shortly before the fun walk was started, in the yard of Management Office Building UNAIR Jl. Mulyorejo Surabaya, Sunday, February 11.

The organizer for this month was the Faculty of Public Health (FKM). The event was attended by hundreds of participants from academic faculty members, UNAIR and faculty officials, students, education personnel, and alumni, even the people around the campus. The main prize drawn yesterday was a motorcycle. There is also a refrigerator, TV, magic jar, dispenser, etc.

Described in his speech, Germas is a systematic and planned action undertaken jointly by all components of the nation with awareness, willingness, and ability to live healthily and improve the quality of life.

Germas is focused on three aspects of behavioral change: physical activity, eating vegetables and fruits, and performing periodic health checks to detect risk factors that exist in each person.

“Let’s support Germas! Let’s do physical activity! Eat a balanced diet – vegetables and fruit every day. And let’s do a routine medical examination! “said the Rector invited the academicians. The participants shouted with full spirit while clenching their fists upwards.

“Lastly, Let’s avoid smoking! For indeed there is not a place in UNAIR for smoking. Do you agree to stop smoking? “asked the Rector.

Accompanied by the Dean of FKM Prof. Dr. Tri Martiana, dr., MS., Rector also encouraged the academicians, to spend 5-10 minutes at 10.00 and 14.00 to stretch at office. The movement will be socialized by the Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure (Sarpras). (*)
