UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Public Health Universitas Airlangga inaugurated Integrated Child Care on January 25 which coincided with the National Nutrition Day. The child care is at Jl. Wisma Permai Tengah 1 Blok AA-25, Mulyorejo, Surabaya.
Integrated Child Care Campus C was inaugurated by the Head of Institute of Community Service, Education, Training and Development (LP4M) Prof. Dr. Jusuf Irianto, Drs., M.Com. He welcomed well the opening of the child care as an implementation of Community Service value from Higher Education Tri Dharma.
“The opening of this TPA is in order prepare a better generation. Hopefully it will brings positive generation, not only for UNAIR but also for our nation, “said Prof. Jusuf.
Although it has been officially opened, Prof. Jusuf expected the support of all parties in order to ensure the sustainability of this Integrated child care. Although the current location is not fixed, Prof. Jusuf hoped in the future there is a university policy for Integrated child care for a permanent location, as well as TPA Campus B UNAIR managed by the Faculty of Psychology.
“Location is sufficient. But it would be nice if UNAIR have a policy of determining the location for this child care, as it is on campus B, “he said.
In the meantime, Dr. Ernawaty, drg., M.Kes. as the head of the TPA establishment team said that the establishment of this TPA is part of her efforts and lecturers’ in the Department of Administration and Health Policy (AKK) in doing community service. Besides Erna, other initiators of the establishment of this Integrated TPA was Ratna Dwi Wulandari, SKM., M. Kes, and Nuzulul Kusuma Putri, SKM., M.Kes.
“This is one of the obligations of lecturers to perform community service. Because many parents, especially in this C campus, are confused looking for a place to trust their children, “said Ernawaty.
Erna said that up to now, there have already been 10 parents who have registered their children to be entrusted in Integrated TPA Campus C. Most of them are parents who work in UNAIR environment, both lecturers, staff, and employees in UNAIR Hospital (RSUA ).
Triyani Purnamawati Nasih as the Head of Dharma Wanita hoped that the opening of this TPA can add facilities for parents who have difficulty in finding child care for their children.
“As the initial intentions, the opening of an integrated TPA was to entrust the children of the employees and lecturers on campus C. This can provide additional facilities for them. Hopefully in the future, it will be given the ease, smoothness, and blessings of Allah, “he said. (*)
